The Western Province Cricket Association has gone a step further by establishing nine cricket hubs, which have been pivotal in identifying and nurturing young talents in the age groups of U13 and U19. Participation in the midweek league, held on Mondays for U19 and Fridays for U13, has allowed these hubs to showcase their talent and hone their cricketing skills.

Inclusivity and Progress: Playing in Boys’ Leagues

In a bid to promote inclusivity, the Western Province Cricket Association allows girls to compete in boys’ leagues up to two age categories below their own. For instance, a 13-year-old girl can play in the U11 boys’ league. This approach not only enhances the skill set of young girls but also challenges stereotypes and creates a more inclusive cricketing community.

Exciting Festivals and National Representation

The cricketing calendar is full of exciting events for young girls. The U11 Boys Festival, scheduled for 18 and 19 November 2023, welcomes girls to participate, fostering an environment of equal opportunity and healthy competition.

Every year, the association hosts a U13 girls’ festival, celebrating the growing talent in the region.

The most significant event on the horizon is the  CSA Girls’ U19 National Week, hosted by Western Province Cricket, taking place from 10 to 14 December 2023.
