SA Emerging won the series against Bangladesh Emerging by 2-1.

Even though SA Emerging lost the third match by 14 runs. They had a lot of positives in that match.

SA Emerging had a new opening pair of SA u19 opener Simone Lourens and Nicole de Klerk from the Dolphins. The two openers before Loarens and de Klerk were Alex Candler and Nonkululeko Thabethe. In two matches, those two did not score more than 10 runs in each match.

The new pair of de Klerk and Lourens produced South Africa’s best opening partnership of 97. They were also scoring at a rapid pace, which was good. They gave insight on how they will tackle the T20 series. De Klerk scored a well played 42 of 49 balls, including 5 fours and 2 sixes. Lourens was more aggressive with a 63 ball 68. The 17 year old reached the boundary 8 times and went over the boundary once.

Faye Tunnicliffe continued her good form by scoring her second half-century of the series in the third match. She scored 55 of 57, including 3 fours and 1 six. Had Eliz-Mari Marx not been recklessly caught at long off, the pair would have taken South Africa home. The pair had already hit a six in that over, and they were one pair with the run rate required. The situation did not need for Marx to play that risky shot since the pair were going well with their seventh wicket parnership of 63 from 76 balls. At the time Marx was dismissed, SA Emerging needed 41 runs from 42 balls.

Overall, Marx had a good game she scored 34 of 46 balls. She was dismissed for the first time in the series after scoring 115 runs in the series. Resulting in her having a very healthy series average of 115.

Marx was wicketless with the ball, but Delmi Tucker from Western Province continued to pick up wickets. She added 2 more wickets in the match to finish the series with 8 wickets at an average of 11. Tucker ended the series as the leading wicket taker.

Captain Kgomotso Rapoo also took 2 wickets in the match to finish the series with 4 wickets in the series, averaging 19.

Overall, the South African bowlers did well in the series. They kept the Bangladeshi batters quiet for huge parts of the series.
