SA Emerging coach Dinesha Devnarain has added three new faces to the squad that toured Bangladesh in May. The SA Emerging side will be touring Namibia from 2 to 12 July for three T20s and three 50-over matches, all to be played at the High Performance Oval in Windhoek.
Devnarain has added three young players from Western Province to the squad. Former SA U19 captain Oluhle Siyo and her predecessor Kayla Reyneke have made the squad. Western Province fast bowler Caitlin Wyngaard will also be joining the team for the Namibia tour. The three players will be replacing Nonkululeko Thabethe, Zintle Kula, and Faye Tunnicliffe.
Western Province captain Leah Jones is likely to continue her role as captain of the T20 side. Delmi Tucker is the final member of the five-player Western Province contingent in the squad.
Another provincial side that has contributed a significant portion to the squad is the Titans. The Pretoria-based team has five players included: Eliz-Mari Marx, Gandhi Jafta, Mona-Lisa Legodi, Simone Lourens, and new recruit Luyanda Nzuza.
With the Knights losing Luyanda Nzuza during the off-season, they have one representative in the squad: wicketkeeper-batter Verunissa Reddy. Opening batters Alex Candler and Nicole de Klerk from the Dolphins retain their spots.
Kgomotso Rapoo, the Lions captain, is likely to continue leading the One Day side. Her Lions teammate Jenna Evans will be hoping for more game time on this tour.
